Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Delicioso! El bacalao bien tierno, y el pulpo picante como lo pedimos. Delicious, bacalao was sooo tender and flavorful. Octopus was spicy like we asked for. We also had croquets and white wine to pair. The owner Julio and chef were very nice and welcoming even though we did not have reservations."
"After being turned away from another highly rated spot due to a lack of reservation, we came here and were seated immediately by Julio. It’s a cozy, intimate place with just a handful of tables, run entirely by Julio and the chef. He recommended the oxtail and pork elbow; having already tried oxtail a couple times, I chose the pork elbow instead. It was incredibly tender and full of flavor. Highly recommended if you’re in Granada."
"Delicious, homemade cozy food. Great atmosphere and vibe. Super nice owner and chef. Highly recommend the codillo!!! And the rabo!! And the pistachio cheesecake! And the croquetas de bacalao basically everything we ate! Would love to come back!!! Gracias, Julio y Jorge!!"
"We arrived on a Saturday evening without a reservation, but the kind owner was able to make a space for us! We ordered the croquettes, octopus dish, Clara, and Alhambra beer, and everything was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the croquettes. They have chicken and mushroom flavors, but they are far from ordinary. They literally melt in my mouth! The Clara was also the best I've ever had in Spain, it was so tasty! The chef and server checked in to make sure we enjoyed our food, which made the dining experience even more pleasant."
"There are a few, very few places that we call: “six stars”. Julio’s is definitely one of them. What an experience - not just a meal. Lets begin with the food: unbelievably good (we ordered tuna and pulpo: SO TASTEFUL and well cooked; their bread was great too). The place is warm, super nice, cozy and small, so Julio can take the best care of everyone. And the service: epic. Nothing compares to it. Is the best we have ever had in all Europe. Please dont miss it! Make a reservation so you can be sure to go. And please: also dont miss their ‘desert/postre/sobreme’ store: FERVOR (its the store on the left of the restaurant): EPIC torta de queso! The best we have ever had in my life. Please: dont miss when in Granada. And Julio: thank you."
"A quiet, small and homey restaurant. The owner is welcoming and provides good recommendations. It is recommended that you try to make reservations in advance as this restaurant has limited tables available. We made reservations for our group of six the evening before. Though the presentation may not seem as polished as other restaurants, do not judge a book by its cover. The food is all very delicious and homey. We initially ordered one serving of the oxtail and ended up ordering another one because it was that good! We had the lettuce salad, omelette, octopus and sangria."
"This restaurant gave us a wonderful experience. The associates are so kind. Especially Julio was very generous. And he can also speaks Korean. The atmosphere in this restaurant is quit, comfortable and cozy. I REALLY RECOMMAND THIS RESTAURANT TO ALL PEOPLE. Muchas gracias Julio."
"I would highly reccomend the oxtail (Rabo De Toro). Very tender, and the flavours are extremely meaty and rich. One of the best I've tasted. Pork Elbow (Codillio Al Estilo) was very nice too with strong pork flavors, but I preferred the oxtail. The croquettes and octopus are also very nice. Julio from the restaurant was very friendly. The restaurant is quite busy, but he was able to take our order and kindly serve the dishes. Amazing restaurant, will come back if I go to Granada again."
